Boyton Place
Coronation 1953
By Linda Sargent (Nee Lee)
I lived in Boyton Place (originally named Suffolk Place) from 1948 until the late 1950's when it was demolished along with Crockford Place (originally named Manning Place), Ashmill Street and Bellfield School to make way for the building of Rutherford School which I believe is now King Solomon Academy. We then moved to Sheringham House in Lisson Street where I lived until 1969.
I can trace my family, the Tysons and the Morans in this street back to 1891.
This is a photograph of Boyton Place taken in 1953 decorated for the Coronation.
