I think this school photo was taken at Cosway School.
I went to Cosway Street School in1928 'til 1934 when I went to Regent's Park Central School. My friends were Margaret Cherry whose dad was the undertaker in Church Street, Yolanda Gandolfi whose father had a shop in Baker Street and made ballet shoes among others. I remember her because of her name Yolanda Louisa Giovanni Gandolfi.
My brother Stan, sister Nellie (Dean) and I went to Cosway Street School. I started in 1928 and left in 1934 to go to Regents Park Central School and from there to Battersea Central. My first boyfriend's name was Alfie Cates who also lived in Ashmill Street.
I've just found a book in our book swap at work (in Bradford) that is stories told to Shakespeare for children, with a sticker in the inside page saying
Cosway St JG
awarded to Siriol Hughes for good conduct, attendance and progress
by Headmistress M. Richards
on March 1939
