In the 1920s our grandad Robert "Bob" John Brown was the licensee of the King Alfred. My father Daniel, his brother Leslie and their sister Betty were all born there. Our grandma Agnes Minnie Lucy née Vousden, who Bob married in 1918, was born into a family of London publicans.
